The Xreal One Pro (styled by the manufacturer as XREAL One Pro) is a pair of tethered AR Glasses made by Xreal. It is the higher-end model of the Xreal One Series, next to the Xreal One. The glasses have no battery of their own: they connect over USB-C to a phone, computer, handheld or console and show its output on a large virtual screen.[1][2]

Xreal announced the One Pro on 4 December 2024 at a price of US$599 and showed it publicly for the first time at CES 2025 in January 2025.[1][3] Its main changes from the standard One are a flat-prism optical design that Xreal calls X Prism, which replaces the birdbath optics of earlier Xreal glasses, and a 57 degree field of view, against 50 degrees on the One.[1][4] Both models use Xreal's X1 chip, which handles 3DoF screen anchoring on the glasses instead of on the host device.[1] The One Series was a 2025 CES Innovation Awards Honoree in the XR and spatial computing category.[5]

General availability began on 1 July 2025 at US$649, after Xreal had received more than 10,000 pre-orders.[6] On 15 October 2026 Xreal released the Xreal 1 Pro+, which Road to VR described as "a hardware refresh of its One Pro flagship AR glasses": it keeps the One Pro's optics, chip and resolution and raises peak brightness to 1,200 nits.[7][8] The One Pro remained on sale in Xreal's US store on 17 October 2026 at US$599 for either frame size, with a regular price of US$649 shown.[9]

History

Announcement

Xreal introduced the One Series, made up of the One and the One Pro, in a press release dated 4 December 2024 in San Francisco. It opened pre-orders for the One Pro at US$599, GBP 549 and EUR 649 through its own store, with shipping expected in early 2025.[1] In the release, CEO and co-founder Chi Xu said the X1 chip was "the result of over three years of cutting-edge research and development".[1] Speaking to CNBC on launch day, Xu called the One Series "the biggest upgrade in Xreal history".[10] CNBC noted that earlier Xreal glasses had required a companion device called the Beam for connections to a device, and that the X1 chip removed that requirement.[10]

CES 2025

At CES 2025 in Las Vegas, Xreal gave the first public demonstrations of the One Pro, together with the modular Xreal Eye camera. In its CES press release of 6 January 2025, the company said the One Pro was expected to ship to US customers, through its own store and its Amazon store, before the end of the second quarter of 2025.[3] After a hands-on at the show, Engadget reported that the One Pro "should begin shipping in March 2025".[11]

Release and pricing

In June 2025, PhoneArena reported that Xreal was still delivering thousands of pre-orders, and that the pre-order price had been extended to 30 June. General ordering was set to open on 1 July 2025 at US$649, and Amazon and Best Buy were due to begin selling the glasses later that month.[12] Tom's Hardware attributed the increase from US$599 to US$649 to the ongoing tariff war.[13] Xreal's own general-availability announcement of 18 June 2025 gave the new prices as US$649, EUR 689 and GBP 579 through Xreal.com, Amazon and BestBuy.com, with the two retailers starting later in July, and extended the US$599, EUR 649 and GBP 549 pre-order price on Xreal.com to the end of June.[6] The same release announced pre-orders for the Xreal Eye camera at US$99, with shipping expected to begin in July.[6]

On 23 April 2026, 9to5Google reported a permanent price cut for the One Pro from US$649 to US$599 on Xreal's website, Amazon and other retailers.[14] On 27 September 2026, Xreal's US store listed both frame sizes at US$549, against a list price of US$649.[15] By 17 October 2026 the US listing had returned to US$599, again against a regular price of US$649, and Xreal also sold a bundle of the One Pro and the Xreal Beam Pro from US$798 (with the 6 GB / 128 GB Wi-Fi Beam Pro).[9][16] On the same date Xreal's UK store listed the glasses at GBP 529 (regular price GBP 579) and its EU store at EUR 599 (regular price EUR 689).[17][18] In Japan, MoguLive reported a regular price of 84,980 yen including tax and an autumn sale price of 76,480 yen from 13 to 19 October 2026 at Amazon, Rakuten Ichiba, Xreal's online shop and other retailers.[19]

Xreal 1 Pro+ refresh

Xreal announced the Xreal 1 Pro+ on 15 October 2026 and began selling it on Xreal.com the same day at US$599, with other retailers to follow.[7][20] Road to VR called the changes "a modest set of improvements over the original One Pro" and reported that the body appeared unchanged.[7] The 1 Pro+ keeps the Sony 0.55-inch micro-OLED panels at 1920 x 1080 per eye, the X1 chip, the 57 degree field of view, X Prism optics, electrochromic dimming, Sound by Bose audio and the two IPD sizes.[7][8] Peak brightness rises from 700 to 1,200 nits, and the refresh adds AI HDR.[7] Xreal's 1 Pro+ user guide also lists Standard, Cinema and Reading display modes.[8] Xreal's user guide states the 1,200 nit figure for AI HDR in Follow or Anchor mode, and gives a maximum of 1,000 nits in SDR.[21] Real-time 2D-to-3D conversion runs at 60 Hz on the 1 Pro+, compared with 30 Hz on the One Pro, and the nose pads were redesigned.[20][7] Engadget gave the price as US$600, which it said was the same as the One Pro's.[22] On 17 October 2026 Xreal's US store sold the 1 Pro+ and the One Pro at the same US$599 price.[23][9]

Design and hardware

Optics and display

The One Pro uses a pair of Sony 0.55-inch Micro-OLED panels, one per eye, at 1920 x 1080 pixels and up to 120 Hz, with peak brightness of up to 700 nits.[4][15][1] Xreal calibrates color on each unit individually and states a color accuracy of Delta E under 3.[4] According to Xreal, the default virtual screen is equivalent to a 171-inch screen viewed from 4 meters.[4] The company's CES release describes the One Series as delivering a virtual display of up to 447 inches, and the Ultrawide mode produces a curved screen of up to 310 inches.[3][15]

Xreal describes the One Pro's optics as the first flat-prism lens design, a change from the triangular birdbath used in the One and earlier models. The press release gives the optic as an 11 mm thin plane that is 40.9% thinner than traditional birdbath optics. Xreal also states that it gives a display area 63.6% larger than the Xreal Air 2 series, against 20.7% for the One.[1] Xreal markets the design as having no stray light and no reflections.[4] Its June 2025 general-availability release gave different figures, describing the flat prism lenses as 44% thinner than the previous triangular birdbath lenses with a nearly 15% larger field of view.[6]

Display analyst Karl Guttag examined the optics after CES 2025. He described the flat prism as "a slightly more complex version of a birdbath". In his analysis, a total internal reflection bounce lets the polarizing beam splitter be thinner, so the eye sits closer to the curved mirror, and this allows a smaller display with a larger field of view. He also found that concept diagrams in Xreal's presentation matched ones Ant-Reality (formerly AntVR) had shown for its "Mixed Waveguide" optics in 2023, a company that Google was reported to have acquired in December 2023.[25]

The lenses have electrochromic dimming with three modes, Clear, Shade and Theater, switched by a button on the glasses.[4][1] Guttag reported that the dimmer is polarization-based, and that even in its most transparent state the One Pro passes about 22% of real-world light.[25] Xreal states 100% UV protection.[15]

X1 chip and tracking

The One Pro contains Xreal's X1, the company's first self-designed chip for its glasses.[10] The X1 runs 3DoF spatial computing on the glasses, so the virtual screen can be anchored in place or set to follow the wearer regardless of the connected device.[1] Xreal states a motion-to-photon latency of about 3 ms at 120 Hz and compares this with earlier industry figures of about 20 ms.[1] Display modes listed by Xreal are Anchor, Follow, Ultrawide and Side View; Side View shrinks the screen into a small window so the wearer can keep watching the surroundings.[15] Pressing the X button on the underside of the right temple switches between Follow and Anchor modes and opens display settings, without menus on the host device.[1] In Xreal's current button guide, a single press of the X button switches between Follow and Anchor, a double press opens the on-screen menu and a long press recenters the screen; the +/- rocker opens a quick panel for brightness, volume and dimming.[26] A Stabilizer setting, on by default in Follow mode, applies algorithmic compensation to reduce screen shake from small head movements; turning it off makes an Increase Brightness option available, which raises the number of brightness levels in Follow mode from 8 to 12.[27] With Auto Transparency, available in Anchor mode, the lenses darken while the wearer looks at the virtual screen and turn transparent when the wearer looks away.[28]

With the optional Xreal Eye camera attached, the glasses gain 6DoF spatial anchoring.[15] Tom's Hardware reported that Xreal implements this with a single camera using monocular SLAM. In its test the virtual screen stayed in place while the reviewer walked around a room, though tracking was less steady than on the Meta Quest 3.[13] With the Eye attached, Xreal also offers an experimental gesture control mode, switched on in the menu's Lab section, in which the camera tracks the hand and sends mouse-style cursor and click input to the connected device or the glasses' own menu.[29][30]

Audio and microphones

The One Pro has two open-air speakers tuned under Bose's "Sound by Bose" program.[13][1] Xreal says Bose tuned the audio for the glasses and that it improves mid-to-high frequencies.[3] The temples hold a 4-microphone layout with near-field and far-field algorithms for recording nearby and distant voices, for example for meeting transcription.[1] Xreal's store lists stereo recording and uplink noise reduction for calls.[15]

Build and fit

The One Pro weighs 87 g, compared with 84 g for the One.[1] Xreal uses a magnesium alloy front shell, which it says also helps dissipate heat, together with nylon hinges and an interchangeable front frame available in different finishes.[1] In its review, Gaming Nexus noted that the X1 made the area above the eyes warm after use, though not uncomfortably so.[31]

Unlike the One, the One Pro comes in two frame sizes for different interpupillary distance (IPD) ranges: M for 57-66 mm and L for 66-75 mm. Xreal says the two sizes fit 95% of consumers.[1][4] Both One Series models also have software IPD adjustment and three-level temple adjustment for vertical fit.[1][3] The box includes S, M and L nose pads and a prescription frame without lenses.[15] Xreal sells prescription lenses for that frame, and Gaming Nexus used prescription inserts from HonsVR that fit above the nose pads.[15][31]

The One Series is certified by TÜV Rheinland for High Visibility, Eye Comfort (5 Star), Low Blue-Light and Flicker Free. Xreal says the One Series was the first AR device to receive the 5 Star Eye Comfort rating.[3][1]

Software and compatibility

The One Pro works with devices that output video over USB-C.[1] Xreal lists compatibility with iPhone, iPad, Android devices, PCs, Macs, Xbox, PlayStation 5, Steam Deck, Nintendo Switch, ROG Ally and drone controllers; some consoles need an adapter.[4] Because 3DoF runs on the X1, anchoring works without a companion app on the host device.[1] Gaming Nexus noted that screen size and distance can be changed from the glasses' own menu and that these settings are kept after unplugging. The reviewer also found the glasses powered up in about three seconds.[31] Ultrawide mode expands the screen to 21:9 or 32:9, and Xreal added 3D support through a later firmware update.[31][15]

Xreal's setup guide states that the source port must support DisplayPort video output and supply 5V/1A of power; the glasses have no battery and switch off when the cable is unplugged.[32] USB-C devices with DisplayPort output, such as the Steam Deck, ROG Ally, iPhone 15, 16 and 17 series, iPad Pro and laptops, connect directly. Nintendo Switch models need the Xreal Hub, and PlayStation, Xbox and computers with HDMI ports need an HDMI-to-USB-C adapter.[32] According to the same guide, Anchor and Follow modes, 3D Mode and Side View work with every listed device type, while UltraWide mode does not work with iPhones, Android phones without a desktop mode, Switch, Xbox or PlayStation.[32][33] Current firmware offers UltraWide aspect ratios of 16:18, 21:9 and 32:9.[33] Side View places a smaller window in the top-left or top-right corner of the view, adjustable from 54 to 85 inches.[34] A separate Quick Button on top of the right temple can be assigned functions such as an UltraWide ratio, 3D modes or dimming; with the Xreal Eye attached it defaults to taking photos and recording.[35] Xreal's One Series FAQ describes updating the firmware from a Windows or Mac computer through Xreal's web updater.[36]

3D modes

The glasses have two kinds of 3D playback. 3D Mode shows side-by-side stereoscopic video, in Full SBS (3840 x 1080) or Half SBS (1920 x 1080) format, from sources such as YouTube or a phone's video player.[37] REAL 3D converts ordinary 2D video, photos and games into stereoscopic images in real time on the glasses.[38] Xreal launched REAL 3D on the Xreal 1S in January 2026 and extended it to the One and One Pro through an update reported by Road to VR on 30 January 2026; the X1 chip estimates depth for each incoming frame.[39] Xreal's guide lists four effect levels (Soft, Natural, Enhanced and Furious), recommends the feature for films, photos, short videos and games rather than text work, and warns that higher levels can increase power use, heat and frame drops.[38]

Reception

Engadget's Daniel Cooper tried the One Pro at CES 2025 and wrote that he was "suitably impressed". He said the resolution, brightness, low latency and field of view made the virtual screen convincing, and that he could read small text on a laptop desktop comfortably.[11]

Tom's Guide gave the One Pro its Editor's Choice award. Reviewer Jason England called it the best AR glasses available at the time and pointed to the display, the wider field of view and the absence of edge blur and fringing. He was less positive about the Xreal Eye, calling it "just an average camera at the moment", and about the US$649 retail price. He also described the glasses as "pretty much an advanced preview of Project Aura", Xreal's later Android XR device (Xreal Aura).[2]

TechRadar's Hamish Hector rated the One Pro 4.5 out of 5 and called it "the best AR smart glasses for entertainment", citing the Bose audio and the full-HD image from the new optical engine, while noting that it was pricier than earlier models.[40] PCMag's Will Greenwald gave it 4.0 out of 5 and an Editors' Choice award, writing that it "offers the widest field of view of any AR smart glasses". He listed the price and the lack of focus dials as drawbacks, and preferred the diopter dials of the Rokid Max 2 and Viture Pro for nearsighted users.[41]

Brandon Hill of Tom's Hardware listed the lightweight build, the flat-prism lenses and the dimming as strengths. He found the Eye's photos and video weak and its single-camera 6DoF tracking less stable than a Meta Quest 3. His conclusion was that "pricing is getting out of control".[13] Gaming Nexus rated it 9 ("Class Leading"). The review praised the wider field of view and thinner prism lenses, while it reported drift in anchor mode, an Xreal Eye that froze the interface and a dimmer area on one side of the reviewer's screen.[31] In a February 2026 review for AppleInsider, Mike Wuerthele gave it 3 out of 5. He called it "excellent hardware from an optics standpoint" but criticized the tether, the need to buy the Xreal Eye separately for 6DoF and the Beam Pro for wireless use, and an included cable that broke within days.[42]
