Meta Nova is a pair of smart glasses in the Meta Glasses range from Meta Platforms, built around a rounded Pantos frame and offered in Small and Standard sizes. Meta announced it on 23 September 2026 at Meta Connect 2026, in the same post that introduced the cat-eye Meta Capri. Its electronics match those of the Meta Fury and Meta Capri. The specification panel lists a 12 MP ultra-wide camera with 3K video, open-ear speakers, a 6-mic system and more than 8 hours of battery life, and the comparison page marks the Nova as having no display.

On the US Meta Store the Nova costs US$299 with clear or tinted lenses, US$329 with polarized grey lenses and US$379 with Transitions lenses. Meta lists the Small size at 52.7 g and the Standard size at 53.7 g.

Announcement and release

Before the Nova, the range consisted of three frames that went on sale on 23 June 2026: the Meta Adventurer, the Meta Fury and the Meta Starfire, which was designed with Kylie Jenner. In its Connect 2026 newsroom post the company said it was "expanding the collection with two new styles, Capri and Nova." A separate Connect summary on Meta's blog said the additional frame shapes were meant "to fit even more faces comfortably." Meta announced no Nova-specific price or release date at Connect. When checked on 16 October 2026, every Nova configuration on the US Meta Store was offered in both sizes, with prices from US$299.

Press descriptions of the shape varied. The Next Web listed it as "a classic Pantos." Engadget compared it with Ray-Ban's Headliner, a style Meta also sells as a Ray-Ban Meta frame. After a hands-on session at Connect, Android Central noted the Nova's "nicely rounded frames."

Design

Meta's own pages do not settle on one name for the shape, as the wording below shows.

Shape wording on Meta's Nova pages (16 October 2026)

Meta page	Wording
Product page title	"Meta Nova AI Glasses - Pantos Frame"
Specification panel	Shape: "Round"
Store FAQ	"a pantos (round) frame shape"
Comparison page	"A classic round frame available in small and standard sizes"

Of the seven Meta Glasses styles on Meta's comparison page, only the Nova has a Small option; the Adventurer is offered in Standard and Large, and the other five styles in a single size. Both Nova sizes use a high-bridge fit.

Neither the specification panel nor the comparison page names a processor or gives a memory figure. The box holds the glasses, a foldable charging case, a cleaning cloth, a reference guide and a prescription lens guide; a USB-C cable is not included. According to the FAQ, the case comes color-matched to the frame, and case colors include Black, Mocha, Forest, Cream and Driftwood.

Lenses and prescriptions

Lens types on the comparison page are sun, clear with blue light filter, polarized and Transitions. For prescription lenses, the specification panel gives a total power range of -12.00 to +2.25, and the FAQ lists single vision, progressive and Transitions options.

The store FAQ limits prescription orders through Meta.com to the United States. Owners can also take the frames to an optician of their choice; the FAQ says frames damaged "during the prescription lens installation process" are "eligible for a free frame replacement." Meta's lineup post of 23 September 2026 added Canada, saying Meta Glasses could be ordered with prescription lenses on Meta.com there. For its Transitions lenses, Meta says they block all UVA and UVB rays and filter 26 to 51 percent of blue-violet light indoors and 78 to 93 percent outdoors, with blue-violet light measured from 400 to 455 nm.

Lens and case colors can also be chosen separately, according to the FAQ. Meta's Connect summary describes Mix & Match as a US program, while the newsroom post presents it as open to any pair of Meta Glasses, with frame, lenses and case color chosen at a Meta Lab store or online.

Software

Setup and settings are handled in the Meta AI mobile app for iOS and Android. The glasses' assistant, Meta AI, responds to "Hey Meta" or to a press of the action button. Version 26 of the glasses software began reaching Ray-Ban Meta, Oakley Meta and Meta Glasses in the week starting 29 June 2026. Its release notes list the Muse Spark model for Meta AI along with dynamic photo, Photo Ultra HDR and 14 more live translation languages. According to Meta's June launch post, as updated in July, this Muse Spark version of the assistant is offered in the US and Canada, and other markets will follow.

Live translation on Meta Glasses supports 20 languages, according to Meta's June 2026 launch post. Six languages (English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish) have downloadable packs for offline use. The 14 languages added in v26, including Japanese, Korean and Mandarin, work only with Wi-Fi or mobile data, according to the help page. Meta's help page for Conversation Focus, a speech amplification feature, lists Meta Glasses among the glasses that do not support it.
