The Meta Fury is a model of smart glasses in the Meta Glasses line, developed by Meta Platforms in partnership with EssilorLuxottica and announced on June 23, 2026. It is one of the first AI glasses sold under Meta's own brand rather than the Ray-Ban or Oakley eyewear names, and it carries a starting price of $299, undercutting the $379 Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2).[1][2][3]

The Fury is distinguished from the other launch models chiefly by its frame shape: it is the bolder, boxier, more square design in the range, described in reporting as a thicker-armed and more assertive take on a wide classic shape, by contrast with the slimmer rectangular Meta Adventurer.[4][3] Like the rest of the line, the Fury has no visual display and does not overlay digital content onto the wearer's view; it is a camera-and-audio device built around hands-free capture, open-ear sound, calls, and the Meta AI voice assistant.[5]

Launch

Meta and EssilorLuxottica announced the Meta Glasses line on June 23, 2026, presenting it as Meta's first AI eyewear sold under the Meta brand rather than co-branded with Ray-Ban or Oakley.[1] The launch comprised three styles: the rectangular Meta Adventurer and the boxier Meta Fury, both priced at $299, and a $399 slim oval style designed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner and marketed by Meta as "Meta Glasses by Kylie" (referred to in some reporting by the codename Starfire).[1][2][6]

Although the glasses drop the Ray-Ban and Oakley branding, they are still developed and made in partnership with EssilorLuxottica, the world's largest eyewear company; the "in-house" framing refers to the brand on the product rather than a claim that Meta manufactures the glasses alone.[1][2] Reporting described the line as a move down-market for Meta, broadening the audience for its smart glasses below the higher-priced Ray-Ban and Oakley collections, and noted that the Adventurer and Fury at $299 undercut the $379 starting price of the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2).[2][3] Coverage also framed the timing as coming ahead of an expected competing product from Apple.[3]

Design

The Fury is the bold, square style in the line. Meta's product materials describe it simply as "a bold frame that makes a bold statement," while independent hands-on reporting characterized it as boxier and thicker-armed than the Adventurer, a modern interpretation of a wider, more assertive classic frame shape that resembles popular men's eyewear styles.[5][4][3] It is offered in a standard fit.[5]

Across the Adventurer and Fury models there are 26 color and lens combinations available at launch.[3][5] The line's color palette includes Classic Black, Classic Tortoise, Racing Green, Linen, Merlot, Mahogany, and Sandstone, and Meta's product listings have also shown the Fury in finishes such as Light Blue Atlantic.[5][7] Lens options developed by EssilorLuxottica include sun, clear, polarized, and photochromic Transitions lenses.[5] All three frames share adjustability features including three-way adjustable nose pads, over-extension flexible hinges, and adjustable temple tips.[5]

The glasses support prescription lenses across a total power range of -12 to +2.25, with orders placed directly through Meta covering a range of -6 to +2.25.[5] Meta also introduced an "Rx Lens Swap" option that lets customers add prescription lenses through their own optician after purchase without voiding the warranty.[5]

Hardware

Main article: Meta Glasses

The Fury shares its core hardware platform with the rest of the Meta Glasses line, which carries over the camera, audio, and battery design of the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2).[3] It uses a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera capable of recording 3K video, a five-microphone array for voice commands and calls, and open-ear speakers built into the temples for music, podcasts, and call audio.[3][2][5] The glasses do not include any display or in-lens projection.[5]

Meta rates the glasses for over eight hours of battery life with typical use, and the included charging case provides up to 40 additional hours of battery on the go.[1][5] The charging case connects over USB-C.[5] Control is handled through a dedicated Action Button, a capacitive touchpad on the temple, and the "Hey Meta" voice command.[5]

Software and Meta AI

The Fury and the rest of the Meta Glasses line are the first Meta AI glasses to ship with Meta AI powered by Muse Spark from day one.[5][1] Muse Spark is an AI model developed by Meta Superintelligence Labs that Meta says gives the assistant stronger multimodal capabilities, including a better understanding of what the wearer is looking at; the assistant can answer questions, suggest local recommendations, help with daily tasks, and manage schedules hands-free.[1][8]

The glasses provide hands-free photo and video capture, open-ear audio, calls and messaging, live translation, and access to Meta AI, and they pair with the Meta AI companion app on iOS and Android.[5][1] At launch Meta said it was adding features for its displayless glasses including dynamic photo capture and pedestrian navigation, and that live translation support would expand with 14 additional languages, among them Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Hindi, and Korean.[4][5]

Availability

The Meta Fury went on sale on June 23, 2026, the day of its announcement, at a starting price of $299.[1][2] Meta sold the glasses through Meta.com, Best Buy, Amazon, LensCrafters, and Sunglass Hut, alongside additional select retailers and Meta's own Meta Lab retail spaces.[5][1] The line launched in several countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Spain, and Australia, with Meta saying availability would expand to more markets later in the year.[5][9]

Reception

Coverage of the launch focused on the price and the shift to Meta's own branding rather than on new hardware, noting that the camera, microphones, audio, and battery carried over from the Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2) while the $299 starting price brought the line below the Ray-Ban and Oakley collections.[3][4] Reporters described the Fury and Adventurer as the two mainstream $299 styles in the range, with the Fury's bolder, squarer frame positioned as the more assertive option next to the Adventurer's classic rectangle.[4][2]
