Apple Vision Pro Apps
More actions
Apple Vision Pro apps include software built for visionOS and compatible iOS and iPadOS applications offered through the App Store on Apple Vision Pro.[1] The headset can also display software running on a Mac through Mac Virtual Display and receive desktop games through streaming clients such as Steam Link. These access methods retain a separate host computer.[2][3]
Application types
The distinction between a visionOS app and a compatible iPhone or iPad app concerns the platform the developer targets. Apple describes compatible apps as linking against the iOS SDK without adding a visionOS destination; they run on the headset with interfaces that retain their iOS or iPadOS appearance.[4] Apps made for visionOS can use windows, three-dimensional volumes and immersive spaces.[5]
| Type | Presentation and execution |
|---|---|
| Apps made for visionOS | Built for the visionOS platform. Windows can contain conventional controls; volumes present 3D content, and a Full Space can contain an immersive environment. A visionOS app need not be fully immersive.[5] |
| Compatible iPhone and iPad apps | Existing iOS-SDK apps running on the headset, generally retaining their original window interface. Compatibility does not give them the same capabilities as a version made for visionOS.[4] |
| Mac Virtual Display | A connected Mac's display appears in a window in visionOS; the Mac's keyboard, trackpad or connected input devices control the Mac. The displayed Mac software remains on that computer.[2] |
| Streaming and browser access | A client can receive games from another computer, as with Steam Link, or a service can play content in Safari, as with Netflix. These are separate from installing that desktop game or service as a visionOS application.[3][6] |
An app can acquire a new edition over time. Resolution Games initially described an iPad version usable as a compatible app while a fully immersive version remained in development. Its 23 May 2024 update reported the immersive version available.[7] Apple likewise documents that publishing a visionOS version can replace a compatible iOS version for users where the app supports universal purchase.[8]
Distribution and compatibility
Developers can choose whether their compatible iPhone and iPad apps appear on the Vision Pro App Store. Being available for iPhone or iPad therefore does not by itself establish availability on the headset.[8] The headset's App Store requires an Apple Account and an internet connection. Apple Arcade availability varies by country or region, and the games offered across devices depend on hardware and software compatibility.[1]
On 1 February 2024, Apple announced spatial apps and compatible iOS/iPadOS apps for the following day's launch. That announcement described both spatial games and conventional games presented on a screen.[9] Zoom's 29 January 2024 announcement similarly scheduled its native Vision Pro app for 2 February; its later store listing is a separate availability record.[10][11]
Representative applications
The following entries identify Vision Pro editions and documented access requirements. The linked US store records and developer pages were checked on 14 October 2026; the selection covers productivity, presentation, music and education.
| Application and developer | Function | Vision Pro edition and access | Official source |
|---|---|---|---|
| JigSpace (JigSpace Inc.) | Interactive presentations combining 3D models, text, audio and video; users can manipulate components and annotate them. | App made for Vision Pro. Its listing requires visionOS 26.0 or later. | Store listing[12] |
| Microsoft Word (Microsoft) | Create, edit, share and collaborate on documents; the Vision Pro description includes an immersive focus mode. | Vision Pro edition. Creating or editing documents requires a qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription; its listing requires visionOS 2.0 or later. | Store listing[13] |
| Zoom Workplace (Zoom Communications, Inc.) | Schedule or join video meetings, share content and annotate during meetings. | Native visionOS edition announced by Zoom; the current Vision listing supports free or paid Zoom licenses, with some features requiring additional licensing. | Store listing[11][10] |
| djay (Algoriddim GmbH) | Mix music using two 3D turntables and hand-controlled effects, with optional immersive environments. | A spatial interface made for Vision Pro. The store listing requires visionOS 26.0 or later. | Store listing[14] |
| CellWalk (Ako Biotica Inc.) | Explore 3D cellular and molecular structures, zooming from a whole cell to atomic detail. | The Vision Pro description identifies CellWalk 2's spatial interface and gestures. Additional Pro Lessons are offered through in-app purchases. | Store listing[15] |
Games
Spatial games can place interactive content in the user's surroundings or provide an immersive environment. Apple Arcade also includes games played on conventional screens; an Arcade subscription or a Vision Pro listing does not make every game an immersive XR title.[9]

|---|---|---|---|
| Synth Riders (Kluge Interactive) | Rhythm game involving catching notes, following rails and dodging obstacles to music. | Apple Arcade Vision Pro edition, with fully immersive and room-visible presentation options. Its listing requires visionOS 1.1 or later. | Store listing[16] |

Streaming and Mac software
Mac Virtual Display presents a Mac's screen in the headset. Apple's instructions require a Mac running macOS 14 Sonoma or later, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth enabled, and the same Apple Account with two-factor authentication and iCloud Keychain on both devices. Wide and Ultrawide modes additionally require Apple silicon, macOS 15.2 or later and visionOS 2.2 or later.[2]
| Application or service | Where the content runs | Access and limits | Official source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam Link (Valve) | Games run on a separate Windows, Mac or Linux computer running Steam. | The Vision client streams desktop games over the same local network; Valve's description calls for a paired controller. This listing describes desktop game streaming rather than an immersive SteamVR edition of each game. | Store listing[3] |
| Netflix | Online video service accessed through Safari on Vision Pro. | Netflix documents Safari playback and requires up-to-date visionOS and Safari. Offline downloads are not supported through this access method. | Support guide[6] |
Development and spatial content
The visionOS interface separates windows, volumes and spaces. A Shared Space can contain multiple apps; an app can open a Full Space for its own content. SwiftUI provides interface elements and scene types, while RealityKit supplies 3D content rendering and integrates with SwiftUI.[5] Compatible iOS/iPadOS apps retain access to many existing frameworks, but developers must handle unavailable hardware features and adapt their layouts to the headset's window environment.[4]
