Even Realities is a Chinese consumer electronics company, based in Shenzhen, that makes display smart glasses without cameras. It was founded in 2023 by former Apple engineers; its founder and chief executive is Will Wang.[1][2] Its glasses look like ordinary prescription frames and show green text and graphics on a binocular heads-up display built from micro-displays and waveguides. Its products are the Even Realities G1 (2024), the Even Realities G2 (2025), the Even R1 control ring and the Even Hub app platform.[1][3]
In July 2026 the company raised US$150 million in a pre-Series B round led by Meituan, with participation from Tencent, at a valuation of US$1 billion.[1][4] Counterpoint Research ranked Even Realities third among makers of waveguide-based AR glasses in the second half of 2025, with a 16% share, behind Rokid and Meta.[5]
History
Founding
According to TechCrunch, Even Realities was founded in 2023 by former Apple engineers. Will Wang had worked on the Apple Watch and iPhone; other co-founders came from the technology industry, and two came from luxury eyewear companies, including Lindberg.[1] The company's own posts also give 2023 as the founding year and name Wang as founder and CEO.[6] In Chinese the company is known as 逸文科技 (Yiwen Technology).[7] The brand is operated by Shenzhen Yiwen Tech Limited, whose principal place of business is in Shenzhen's Nanshan District;[8] in a 2026 court filing that company named Guangdong Yiwen Technology Co., Ltd. as its corporate parent.[9] Award listings name the maker as Even Realities Ltd. of Shenzhen (Red Dot) and Hong Kong Even Realities Limited (CES Innovation Awards).[10][11]
Even G1 (2024-2025)
The company introduced its first product, the Even G1, in June 2024.[12] MicroLED-Info reported in July 2024 that pre-orders were open at US$599, or US$749 with prescription lenses, with shipments due to begin in August, and that the glasses use two 0.13-inch VGA monochrome green microdisplays from Jade Bird Display.[13] In its year-end review, Even Realities listed a showing at the SILMO optical trade fair in Paris in September 2024, the launch of a second model, the Even G1 B, in November 2024, a commitment to open-source development in the same month, and in-store try-on of the G1 at 169 stores in 10 countries by December 2024.[12] The company's public GitHub organization holds a demo app repository, created in October 2024, that documents how a phone app communicates with the glasses over Bluetooth.[14] The G1 was shown again at CES 2025.[15]
According to Wang, as reported by TechCrunch, the company passed its own target of 10,000 units sold and was the first company in the category to sell more than 10,000 pairs. TechCrunch also reported that its staff grew from 30 to 40 people in 2024 to 300 to 400 by July 2026.[1]
Even G2 and R1 (2025)
On 12 November 2025 the company announced the Even G2 glasses and the Even R1 ring and opened orders the same day, at US$599 for the glasses and US$249 for the ring. Engadget reported that the G2 uses an updated version of the company's HAO optical engine, made up of micro-LED projectors, waveguides and digitally surfaced lenses, that its temples are 54% slimmer than the G1's, and that its battery lasts two days against the G1's one and a half. It was also the company's first product with an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance. The R1 is made of ceramic and medical-grade stainless steel, has a flat touchpad for controlling the glasses, and tracks heart rate and steps.[3] The G2 also introduced Conversate, an AI feature that shows explanations, context and suggested follow-up questions or responses during a conversation and produces a summary afterwards.[3][2]
Funding and expansion (2026)
In March 2026 the company released Prep Notes, a conversation-support feature for the G2 that shows notes and suggested answers prepared from files uploaded before a meeting, and announced Even Hub, an open platform for third-party G2 apps.[2] Digital Trends reported on 3 April 2026 that Even Hub had launched in the Even Realities app with about 50 apps and plug-ins, and wrote that the developer community numbered more than 2,000.[16]
Earlier in 2026 the company completed an A++ funding round led by 光合创投 and 源一资本 (Yuanyi Capital), with existing shareholders including 达晨 (Dachen) adding to their stakes.[7] TechCrunch reported the US$150 million pre-Series B round on 6 July 2026. PEdaily reported that Meituan Longzhu and Meituan's strategic investment arm led the round, with existing shareholders Yuanyi Capital and Tencent increasing their investment, and that the post-money valuation exceeded US$1 billion.[7] TechCrunch listed HSG (formerly Sequoia China) among the company's earlier backers. In the same report Wang said the company was profitable, that more than half of its users were in the United States, and that its main markets were the United States, Japan, South Korea, the Middle East and Europe. It did not yet sell in China, although its glasses are manufactured in several factories there.[1]
Even Realities held its first community event in Japan, Even Day Japan 2026, at TRUNK (HOTEL) in Tokyo on 17 July 2026, supported by the retailer JUN GINZA.[17] On 5 August 2026 it named iNNOHOME as its exclusive distributor in Taiwan, with sales planned to begin in the third quarter of 2026.[6]
Direct sales of the G1 ended on 15 September 2026. The company says existing G1 units keep working with the Even app and that the G1's published security support period will not end before 25 June 2029.[18]

XR work
Even Realities' glasses are optical see-through AR displays. They show notifications, navigation, translation, a teleprompter and AI assistant responses on a monochrome green display in both lenses, and they have no camera and no speakers.[13][3][11][22] Wang has said that leaving out the camera is central to the company's privacy approach, and TechCrunch reported that the company transcribes voice for translation instead of storing recordings.[1] He also said that the company has invested most heavily in optics, which it develops under the name Even HAO (Holistic Adaptive Optics) to combine the display chip, waveguide and prescription lens.[1] The G2 accepts prescription lenses from -12 to +12 diopters.[3] The company says that its "optics, the operating system, the ring, the app, and the platform sit under one roof".[17] Developers build Even Hub apps with the company's SDK, and its GitHub organization publishes starter templates for G2 apps.[16][14]
In its G2 launch coverage, Engadget compared the company with Meta, maker of the Meta Ray-Ban Display. It wrote that Even Realities' glasses are not trying to replace the phone in the way Meta's are, and that the R1 ring is less technically advanced than the Meta Neural Band.[3]
Design patent dispute with XGIMI
On 11 August 2026 the United States Patent and Trademark Office issued two design patents titled "Smart Glasses", D1,140,996 and D1,140,997, which Shenzhen Yiwen Tech Limited says it owns. On 20 August the company sent cease-and-desist letters to Kickstarter and XGIMI. On 24 August 2026 it sued XGIMI, two XGIMI affiliates and Kickstarter in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, alleging that XGIMI's MemoMind One glasses, then funding on Kickstarter, infringe the two patents. The complaint states that the patents cover the designs of the Even G1 A and G2 A (the '996 patent) and the G1 B and G2 B (the '997 patent), and it asked for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to stop Kickstarter from passing campaign funds to XGIMI, along with a permanent injunction and damages. These are the plaintiff's allegations.[8] The docket lists an order to show cause on 28 August 2026 and, on 2 September 2026, a notice of voluntary dismissal and an order on the motion for a temporary restraining order; the docket summaries do not describe what these filings contain.[9]
