XEO BIG is a virtual reality head-mounted display that has been announced but not yet released. It is part of the XEO product line, whose other products are the XEO Pod entertainment capsule and the XEO 202 desktop audio system.[4] XEO describes the device as a PC VR headset with two Micro-OLED displays and pancake lenses, a combined resolution of 7680 x 3552 pixels, a field of view of at least 100 degrees and a weight of 189 g.[3]

XEO showed the headset at CES 2025 in January 2025. MRTV reported at the time that it was slated for release in the third quarter of 2025 at about US$2,000.[2] In 2026 the headset received a Red Dot Award in the Product Design category, which lists Beijing Goerdyna Technology Co., Ltd. as the manufacturer.[1] As of September 2026, XEO's product page for the Big lists specifications but no price or purchase option.[3]

Reviewed 27 September 2026. Specifications, CES 2025 price and release-target report, Sony panel and tracking claims, Red Dot 2026 credits and jury quote, Goer Dynamics ownership and CES 2026 mention re-checked against xeo.io, MRTV, Red Dot, Business Wire, Xataka On and 36Kr. About review dates.

Development

XEO is one of the brands of Goer Dynamics, a company founded in 2020 under the Goer Group that also owns the audio brands Dynaudio and Libratone.[5] The Red Dot award entry credits the in-house design of the XEO Big to Lynn Liu, Wilson Zhang and Hilly Xu.[1]

MRTV's reviewer wrote that XEO had been "a completely unknown name" to him before CES 2025, where the company presented the XEO Big together with the XEO Pod, a seat with built-in speakers and Dolby Atmos support. MRTV reported that the headset was being sold in combination with the Pod.[2] In a separate hands-on of the Pod at CES 2025, Xataka described a capsule with 20 speakers and a planned launch price of US$10,000 for the end of 2025; the article did not discuss the Big.[6]

XEO showed the headset again at CES 2026. A report by the Chinese tech outlet Zhidongxi, published by 36Kr, said the company's Pod and its "MR headset Big" were popular exhibits in the show area.[7]

Hardware

Display and optics

The headset uses two 1.3-inch Micro-OLED panels behind three-element ("3P") pancake lenses. XEO lists a combined resolution of 7680 x 3552 (3840 x 3552 per eye), a pixel density of more than 4,000 pixels per inch, 45 pixels per degree, a 90 Hz refresh rate and a color gamut covering 96% of DCI-P3.[3] The Red Dot entry gives a horizontal field of view of over 100 degrees.[1] MRTV reported that the panels are supplied by Sony and that the field of view is 100 degrees both horizontally and vertically.[2]

Interpupillary distance can be set between 58 and 71 mm.[3] MRTV reported automatic IPD adjustment.[2] XEO also lists magnetic lenses for nearsighted users, which can be customized for each user.[3]

Tracking and passthrough

XEO specifies 6DoF head tracking.[3] MRTV reported that tracking is inside-out, so no external base stations are needed, and that the headset includes eye tracking.[2] Sources differ on passthrough: XEO's specification page lists monochrome video see-through, while the Red Dot entry describes "binocular colour VST" together with integrated eye tracking and hand tracking.[3][1]

Connectivity and design

The headset connects and draws power over USB-C; the Red Dot entry describes it as plug and play over USB-C.[3][1] XEO says the Big can be connected to a PS5, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Blu-ray players and PCs, and lists a virtual cinema screen mode as well as VR games.[3] The Red Dot entry lists compatibility with smartphones, PCs, PS5 and SteamVR.[1]

XEO gives the dimensions as 150.32 mm x 70.00 mm x 77.50 mm and the weight as 189 g. Cooling uses a silent fan with heat conduction. The strap and face cushion are adjustable and can be customized.[3]

Reception

In its CES 2025 coverage, MRTV wrote that the pancake lenses "do a solid job" but introduce some glare, placing them a notch below the optics of the Shiftall MeganeX Superlight 8K.[2] The Red Dot jury statement said the headset is "characterised by elegant simplicity in its shape".[1]
