Qbeh-1: The Atlas Cube is a first-person puzzle platformer for Windows and Mac, developed by Liquid Flower and published by Digital Tribe. It was released on Steam on 15 May 2014.[1] The Steam page lists VR support, and the developer posted a Rift DK2 setup guide in 2014 (see Overview). It remains on sale on Steam as of October 2026.[1]

Reviewed 9 October 2026. Checked title, developer, publisher, release date, platforms, VR support, store-quoted reviews, user-review summary and the developer's Rift DK2 forum post against Steam sources. About review dates.

Overview

The Steam page describes a series of first-person worlds, each with its own visual style, in which the player places and removes special cubes to solve environmental puzzles and find hidden secrets. It states that the game has no timers and no combat.[1] The page also lists a level editor with Steam Workshop support for sharing player-made levels.[1]

In August 2014 a developer post on the Steam community forum stated that Rift support had caused stability issues in the main version, so it was moved to a separate Steam beta branch called rift_beta. That branch used version 0.4.2 of the Oculus runtime and was not guaranteed to work with newer runtimes, and the post gave launch instructions for Direct HMD Access and Extend Desktop modes.[2]

Reception

The Steam store page quotes reviews from Glacier Gaming (10/10), Hooked Gamers (9/10) and Virtual Reality Reviewer (4/5). The last of these called the Rift implementation the best its reviewer had seen from a previously released 2D game.[1] These quotes come from the store page and were not checked against the original reviews. Steam user reviews were rated Very Positive as of October 2026, with 635 of 724 reviews positive.[3]
