Luna is a puzzle and exploration VR game developed and published by Funomena. It was released on Steam on October 17, 2017 for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift through SteamVR, and it can also be played on a flat monitor.[1] A version for the Oculus Store followed for Rift,[2] and in August 2018 UploadVR reported that a PlayStation VR version was planned for fall 2018.[3]

Reviewed 9 October 2026. Checked title, developer, publisher, release date, VR support, languages, review count and gameplay statements against the Steam page and API, Meta blog, UploadVR and Road to VR. About review dates.

Overview

The game follows a bird that swallows the last piece of the moon, is blown away from its home, and must find its way back. Across three-stage levels, the player solves puzzles, such as linking stars into musical notes, and then builds small terrarium-style worlds by placing seeds that grow into trees, flowers and lily pads, which in turn lets the bird call forth the animal that lives there.[2][3] Steam lists the music as composed by Austin Wintory.[1]

In VR the player uses tracked motion controllers.[1] Road to VR's reviewer reported playing both standing and seated, since pressing in the controller thumbsticks lowered the scene to their level, and said the game moves at the player's own pace.[4]

Reception

In a July 2018 review, Road to VR described Luna as a good introduction to VR for people who do not usually play games, praising its relaxed pace and simple interactions.[4] As of October 2026, Steam user reviews were rated "Very Positive" (107 reviews).[1]
