Ivanovich Games is a Barcelona-based video game developer and publisher whose work includes virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR) games. Its catalog includes Operation Warcade', Touring Karts, Final Soccer, Motion Soccer, inRun and the Midway shooters.[1] Independent reporting identifies the studio as the developer of the VR driving shooter Echo Wars - Road Rage and the MR game Balloon Duel: The Keepy-Uppy Game.[2][3]

The studio's VR games use different combinations of arcade action, physical input and views of a virtual scene. Its Meta Quest collection also includes the hand-operated MR applications ReactPRO and Balloon Duel.[4]

History

Ivanovich Games developed and published mobile games before specializing in VR. Fundación Telefónica's XR directory identifies Letris, Final Kick and MiniDrivers among its mobile projects, alongside the early VR titles Final Goalie, Off-Road Paradise and Perfect Angle ZEN.[5]

In a January 2020 development account, founder Ivan Cascales described a progression from the iPhone puzzle game IDonutConnect and Time Geeks to Android, PC and VR development. He dated the studio's decision to enter the VR market to 2016. The account identifies him as founder and CEO at the time of publication.[6] Contemporary Japanese reporting also described Ivanovich Games as a Barcelona-based developer when covering Final Soccer VR in May 2017.[7]

Arcade games in VR

Operation Warcade VR presents a shooting game inside a virtual arcade. In a March 2018 developer interview, Cascales identified Operation Wolf as its main inspiration. The game combines playing in front of an arcade display with entering first-person scenes through points in the game world. These scenes include vehicles controlled with one hand while the other hand fires a weapon. Cascales described the changes of viewpoint and activity as a way to offer varied interactions while avoiding reliance on free movement through the whole environment.[8]

1976 - Back to midway applies a related structure to a vertically scrolling aircraft shooter: its immersion zones move the player into an aircraft cockpit.[9] 2076 - Midway Multiverse uses side-scrolling space combat and interactions such as grabbing, moving and striking objects. Its Steam listing identifies Ivanovich Games as both developer and publisher.[10]

Echo Wars - Road Rage places the player in a buggy, with driving and shooting assigned to separate hands. Its PC version supports VR and conventional monitors; the developer also lists force-feedback steering wheels and motion platforms for PC.[11] Coverage of its August 2025 launch distinguished the Quest episodes from the Steam Early Access release. Steam subsequently records 23 October 2025 as the PC game's full release date, following Early Access on 21 August.[2][11]

Sports and physical input

Final Soccer VR was previously called Final Goalie. It expanded the goalkeeper game with a striker mode in which players kick penalties and free kicks. The PC version supports VIVE Trackers for foot and body input, including a three-tracker configuration; it also allows a VIVE controller attached to a foot for kicking.[12][13] Reporting in May 2017 documented the update adding support for up to three trackers.[7]

Motion Soccer PRO covers 11-a-side matches with player, coach and referee perspectives. Its PC version also supports conventional monitor play. The Steam description distinguishes standard stick controls from an expert mode that uses hand movements to represent feet; this is a different input scheme from the foot-tracker configuration described for Final Soccer VR.[14] The Meta Horizon Store lists a separate Quest version of Motion Soccer PRO, with Ivanovich Games as developer and publisher.[15]

Racing, viewpoints and comfort

Touring Karts supports VR and conventional play. In the 2020 development account, Cascales described adapting power-up interactions to motion controllers, gamepads and touchscreens, and using cross-platform multiplayer to bring VR and non-VR players into the same races.[6] The Steam version lists up to eight online players, combined power-ups and several camera views. Its supported input devices include steering wheels with force feedback and VR controllers.[16]

One Touring Karts view places the player at a virtual arcade cabinet. Cascales described this view as an option intended to avoid motion sickness while retaining hand-based interactions with power-ups.[6] For inRun, Ivanovich Games describes a design that avoids rotation of its game cameras, alongside optional VR, multiplayer racing and steering-wheel support.[17] Beat Blaster combines shooting, running and dodging to music. Its developer description likewise specifies movement without rotating the player and presents this as a means of reducing the probability of motion sickness.[18]

Mixed reality applications

ReactPRO is a reflex exercise application in the studio's Quest collection. Ivanovich Games describes it as an MR activity that uses hand tracking to operate targets while the physical room remains visible.[4] Its Meta Horizon Store entry lists Ivanovich Games as developer and publisher, hand and controller input, and a release date of 11 June 2024.[19]

Balloon Duel: The Keepy-Uppy Game turns keeping a balloon in the air into an MR game. In November 2025, Real o Virtual reported that it used hands without controllers and incorporated the player's furniture, virtual portals and fans into play on Quest 3, Quest 3S and Quest Pro.[3] The Quest store page continued to label the game Early Access when checked on 12 October 2026.[20]

Perspective puzzles

Ivanovich Games also developed perspective-based puzzle games. Its Perfect Angle ZEN VR catalog describes puzzles in which a fragmented arrangement forms a recognizable figure when viewed from a suitable angle, with optional Google Cardboard play.[21] A May 2018 announcement described Sea of memories as an optical-illusion game available on several VR platforms.[22]

The 2021 UIST paper Game Illusionization: A Workflow for Applying Optical Illusions to Video Games cites Perfect Angle and Sea of memories as examples of games using modal completion: players change perspective until separate objects appear to form one object. This is a classification of their puzzle mechanics in the paper's related work.[23]
