Iristick G2 is an augmented reality head-mounted display released in 2021. Sold by the Belgian company Iristick as the Iristick.G2, it is a pair of certified safety glasses with a small monocular display in front of the right eye, a 16-megapixel central camera and a 5-megapixel zoom camera.[1][2] The glasses rely on a connected smartphone for power and processing: a coax cable links them to a pocket unit, and the pocket unit connects to an Android or iOS smartphone that runs the software and supplies the network connection.[4][5]
Iristick sells the G2 to companies for remote assistance, digital workflows and barcode-based order picking ("pick-by-vision") in fields such as manufacturing, logistics, field service and healthcare.[2][1] It was offered in two versions: the Iristick.G2 and the Iristick.G2 PRO, which added voice commands and a more capable barcode scanner.[2]
History
Iristick is based in Antwerp, Belgium, and was founded in 2016.[6] Before the G2, its glasses-style models were the Iristick.G1 (formerly called the Iristick.Z1) and the Iristick.G1 PRO, sold alongside the head-mounted Iristick.H1 that the company announced in April 2021.[7] A copy of Iristick's products page from 24 October 2021 still listed the G1, G1 PRO and H1.[8] Iristick's G2 and G2 PRO datasheet carries the note "Last update October 2021",[2] and by 29 November 2021 the company's website had product pages for both the Iristick.G2 and the Iristick.G2 PRO.[1][9]
At that time Iristick listed the Iristick.G2 at 2,099 US dollars per unit and the Iristick.G2 PRO at 2,599 US dollars per unit, both excluding VAT, import duties and services; the G2 PRO page added that the price "may slightly vary in certain regions".[1][9] For comparison, the Iristick.G1 had been listed at 1,999 US dollars per unit on the same basis in May 2021.[10]
On 4 May 2022 Iristick launched "Microsoft Teams on Iristick", a version of Microsoft's videoconferencing software adapted for voice control, for the Iristick.G2 PRO and Iristick.H1.[6][11]
As of September 2026 the G2 is still on sale. Iristick's product page lists the Iristick.G2 at 1,975 euros excluding VAT, and the company's online shop lists the Iristick.G2 PRO at 1,975.00 euros.[5][12] The same site marks the newer Iristick.G3 as "NEW", the Iristick.H1 as sold out and an Iristick.H3 as "coming soon".[5] According to Iristick's knowledge base, the G3 has no battery of its own and draws its power from the connected smartphone.[13]
Design and hardware
Glasses
The G2 is built as a pair of safety glasses and is certified to the US ANSI Z87 and European EN 166 S eyewear standards.[2][4] Iristick's shop lists CE, UKCA, FCC, EN60950, EN55032-CISPR32 Class B ITE, IEC 60825-1, EN 166 S and ANSI Z87.1 certification.[12] The glasses weigh 78 g without the pocket unit and measure 16.4 cm wide, 4.5 cm high and 20 cm long.[2] The nose pads are adjustable and the temple tips can be bent for fit. Tinted or prescription lenses can be mounted inside the glasses,[2] and Iristick offers an optional insert frame for prescription lenses, so that several workers can share one pair of glasses while each keeps a personal insert.[5] According to Iristick, the glasses can be worn together with other personal protective equipment.[5]
Display
The display is a monocular LCD with WQVGA resolution (426 x 240 pixels), positioned in front of the right eye.[3][4] Iristick's datasheet lists video on the display at up to 60 frames per second.[2] The display sits on a patented arm that can be adjusted along three axes, including for the wearer's interpupillary distance, and it can be pivoted completely out of the line of sight.[2][1] Because the heads-up display is in front of the right eye, Iristick says the G2 works better for people whose right eye is dominant.[5]
Cameras and scanner
The G2 has two cameras. The central camera has a 16-megapixel 4:3 sensor, a 117 degree diagonal field of view that can be tilted in software, and records Full HD (1080p) video at 30 frames per second. Iristick describes it as showing what the wearer sees for a remote expert. The zoom module has a 5-megapixel 4:3 sensor with a 16 degree field of view, 6x optical zoom through a liquid lens with fast autofocus, and 720p video at 30 frames per second.[2] The front of the glasses also holds a Class 1 (eye-safe) laser and a high-power flash LED.[2] Iristick states that the built-in barcode scanner can read 3 cm barcodes from 1.5 meters away.[2]
For comparison, Iristick's page for the earlier G1 listed a 5-megapixel fixed-focus central camera with an 84 degree field of view, a zoom module with 5x optical zoom and a 13 degree field of view, support for Android 7 or higher, and a pocket unit that recharged in 2 hours.[10]
Audio, input and sensors
An integrated speaker sits near the right ear, and a 2.5 mm jack accepts an earpiece; a mono earpiece with microphone is included.[2] Iristick's datasheet and current specification sheet list dual microphones with beamforming,[2][4] while the November 2021 G2 product page described a quad microphone array.[1] A touchpad on the temple accepts gestures.[2][4] The glasses contain a 9-axis motion sensor combining an accelerometer, a gyroscope and a compass.[2]
Pocket unit and smartphone
The pocket unit holds a hot-swappable 13.3 Wh battery that Iristick rates at "5h+ at full performance". It measures 7.2 x 16 x 1 cm and weighs 157 g.[2] Iristick's datasheet and specification sheet give a recharge time of 1.5 hours,[2][4] while the current product page gives approximately 2 hours.[5]
The pocket unit connects to a smartphone over USB-C, or over Lightning for older iPhones.[5] The 2021 datasheet requires Android 8 or later with a USB Type-C connector, or an iPhone 8 or later running iOS 12.0 or later.[2] The phone provides processing, storage and cellular or Wi-Fi connectivity, and apps are installed on it rather than on the glasses. Iristick says that moving processing and the battery off the head reduces weight, heat and radiation near the temples, and that IT departments can manage the glasses as an accessory of existing managed phones.[5][4]
G2 and G2 PRO compared
The two versions used the same hardware. The differences were in software features, the included SDK and the price.[2][1][9]

Iristick's current specification sheet for the Iristick.G2 lists multilingual voice commands and scanning of QR, EAN-13, 2D, 1D and Aztec codes, features that the 2021 datasheet reserved for the PRO version.[4][2]
Software and features
Applications for the G2 run on the connected smartphone and are built with the Iristick SDK, which is available for both Android and iOS. Developers get the SDK through Iristick's developer program after signing a non-disclosure agreement and an SDK agreement, and finished apps are distributed through Google Play or the App Store. Iristick says the SDK supports the G2, H1 and G3.[14] Iristick's 2021 datasheet lists virtual factory acceptance tests, guided logistics, digital field inspections, virtual quality inspections and remote proctoring as example uses.[2]
In remote assistance, the central camera shows a remote expert what the wearer sees, while communication runs through audio and visual guidance. Iristick says the zoom module lets workers keep a safe distance while sharing details with the expert.[2] With Microsoft Teams on Iristick, users of the G2 PRO can start calls, share files, livestream, take and share pictures, change the camera view and zoom by voice command during a call.[6] IT Pro reported that the Teams software was exclusive to the Iristick.H1 and Iristick.G2 PRO.[11] As of 2026 Iristick also lists its own applications for the glasses: Iristick.Collector for data collection, Iristick.Teams for Microsoft Teams calls and Iristick.Assist for video calling.[5]
