AjnaXR Enterprise Edition is a virtual reality head-mounted display released in 2023. It is the higher-resolution version of the AjnaXR mixed reality headset made by the Indian company AjnaLens, with a combined display resolution of 4560 x 2280 pixels (2280 x 2280 per eye), compared with 3200 x 1600 for the standard edition.[2][1]
AjnaLens unveiled the AjnaXR at CES 2023, where the headset was named a CES Innovation Awards 2023 honoree in the Virtual & Augmented Reality category.[3] The headset is a standalone device built around a Qualcomm XR2 chip, with eye tracking, hand tracking and camera passthrough for mixed reality. AjnaLens aims it at workforce training through its AjnaVidya learning platform.[2][1]
Announcement and release
AjnaLens, founded in 2014 at IIT Bombay, showed the AjnaXR at CES in January 2023.[2][4] The company described two versions of the headset: a regular model with a 3200 x 1600 display and an enterprise edition with a "5K" 4560 x 2280 display.[2][3] Business Today reported that AjnaLens had received the CES Innovation Awards 2023 honoree designation for what it called "the industry's most advanced true mixed reality headset".[5] At the launch, co-founder and COO Abhijit Patil said: "We are thrilled to launch India's first True Mixed Reality Glasses and world's first complete immersive learning ecosystem at a global event, CES 2023."[2]
In its CES 2023 roundup, the VR blog The Ghost Howls described the AjnaXR as "something similar to a Quest Pro clone": a lightweight VR headset that can also show passthrough AR. It reported that although AjnaXR was offered in consumer and enterprise editions, only the enterprise edition had actually launched. The Enterprise AjnaXR could be pre-ordered on the AjnaLens website for around US$1,200, which the blog noted was US$300 less than the Meta Quest Pro, and shipping was expected in August 2023.[1]
On 15 August 2023, AjnaLens launched two AjnaXR models for sale in India at an event at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai: the AjnaXR PRO and the AjnaXR SE.[6] The PRO has the same 4560 x 2280 resolution that AjnaLens had given for the enterprise edition at CES, while the SE has 3200 x 1600.[6][7] Fone Arena listed the AjnaXR PRO limited edition at Rs 1,15,499 and the SE at Rs 84,999; PCQuest gave Rs 1,54,499 for the PRO limited edition. Both were sold through the AjnaLens website.[6][7]
At the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco in March 2024, Business Today reported the AjnaXR PRO's price as Rs 1 lakh and said both AjnaXR models were made entirely in-house at the company's Thane facility.[8] In a press release dated 10 May 2024, AjnaLens announced that the AjnaXR Pro was now designed, developed and manufactured in India.[9]
As of September 2026, the AjnaLens website lists "AjnaXR Enterprise" as its headset product, next to AI smart glasses and AR glasses, and describes AjnaXR as "Industrial-grade XR hardware engineered to perform in the most demanding high-stakes environments". The site asks visitors to book a demonstration.[10]
Design and hardware
AjnaLens' CES 2023 specifications gave the AjnaXR a weight of 390 grams, which the company's press release claimed made it the lightest headset in its class.[3] It uses dual 2.1-inch F-LCD panels with a 95-108 degree field of view and a 90 Hz refresh rate.[2][3] On the enterprise edition, each eye has a resolution of 2280 x 2280 pixels.[1]
The headset supports foveated rendering. According to Interesting Engineering, it uses eye tracking to reduce the rendering workload on the processor.[3][2] The optics have an adjustable interpupillary distance of 60-68 mm and built-in diopter adjustment, so people who wear prescription glasses can set their correction on the headset itself. Interesting Engineering described it as the first headset in the world to feature diopter lenses.[2][3]
The AjnaXR runs on a Qualcomm XR2 chipset, supports Wi-Fi 6 and has two RGB cameras. Its 5500 mAh battery is rated for more than three hours of continuous use.[2][3] The Ghost Howls reported eye tracking and hand tracking as features of the enterprise edition.[1]

Software and features
The AjnaXR includes AjnaVidya, AjnaLens' learning platform, which Business Today described as helping "users up-skill or re-skill themselves in the virtual world".[5] AjnaLens claimed that training on the platform was four times faster and 52 percent more cost-effective, and said AjnaVidya included cloud-based processing and an NFT marketplace.[2]
At the August 2023 launch, AjnaLens also introduced the Ajna Developer Hub for creating content, the Ajna Publisher Hub with performance analytics for publishers, the Ajna Workstation cloud-based XR tools, and the Ajna Talent Platform for connecting creators with companies.[6] The launch models run Android 12 and support OpenXR.[6] At GDC 2024 the company showed AjnaHPSC (High Performance Spatial Computing), which streams XR content to AjnaXR headsets without a high-end PC; AjnaKriti, a tool that turns text, images or video into 3D models; and AjnaChakra OS.[8]
Use
AjnaLens aims the AjnaXR at training and skills development for businesses and government.[2][10] In January 2023, Business Today listed the Indian Army, the Indian Navy, DRDO, the Ministry of Defence, Vedanta, L&T and Tata Technologies among the organizations that had deployed AjnaLens solutions.[2] In March 2024, the same publication reported that more than 500 industrial training institutes in India were using the company's devices.[8]
