SurrealVR is a free-to-play, cross-platform Social VR and Multiplayer platform developed and published by Surreal Games. It was released on Steam on April 15, 2016 for Windows, with support for the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift CV1 as well as non-VR play.[1] The listing was still available on Steam in October 2026. In July 2022 the company Dynepic announced it had acquired SurrealVR to add multi-player capabilities to its training platform.[2]

Reviewed 9 October 2026. Checked the Steam store page, appdetails and review summary for app 461180 and the PrivSource acquisition report against the lead, Overview and Reception statements About review dates.

Overview

SurrealVR is a shared online space made up of separate locations that players visit together. According to the Steam page, the locations include a home scene, a cruise ship, a dinosaur island, a basketball court, a dance club and a whiteboard area.[1] Activities listed there include flying a remote-control drone, throwing and catching networked physics objects, and drawing together with a brush tool.[1]

The Version 3.0 update described on the Steam page added Oculus Touch support and cross-platform play between Vive, Oculus and desktop PC. It lists input through VR motion controllers or a gamepad, Avatar customization, voice chat, inverse kinematics and lip sync, a new Teleportation system alongside classic walking, and an identity that carries over to a separate Surreal Games title, Drone Fighters.[1]

Reception

Steam user reviews were rated Mixed as of October 2026, with 62 percent of 82 reviews positive.[3]
