Spell Fighter VR is a free, first-person fantasy VR App for the HTC Vive, developed and published by Kubold and released on Steam in March 2016.^[1] It was built as a short hobby project to test the Vive's tracked motion controllers, and the Steam page describes it as an archived tech demo that is no longer supported.^[1]

Overview

According to a database copy of the game's original Steam description, the player fights skeletons with a sword, fires medieval guns and bows, and throws objects at enemies. The player can also summon wooden golem minions.^[2] Spells can be cast by speaking into a microphone.^[2] The game centers on a small sandbox for practicing these skills, plus a quest. The quest takes about 25 minutes to rush through, and a normal playthrough can take up to an hour.^[2]

The game runs through SteamVR in a standing or room-scale setup and requires an HTC Vive. The Steam page says it was never updated to support other VR controllers after they were released.^[1]
