Soundboxing is a music and VR kickboxing game developed and published by Maxint LLC.[1] It was released for Windows on Steam on 29 September 2016 and was designed for the HTC Vive with tracked motion controllers; the Steam listing gives the supported VR runtimes as SteamVR or Oculus PC.[1] The game is single-player and is listed as standing-only.[1]
Overview
The player punches in time with music taken from YouTube videos, and the game awards points for streaks of correct punches and for punch strength.[1] Players can search for challenges made by other users, or record their own beat pattern for a chosen music video so that others can try to beat it.[1] Challenges can be shared with a web link, so people outside VR can open them, and the game keeps high score leaderboards.[1] A high score can be played back as a boxing match between robot figures.[1]
VR Fitness Insider described it in 2017 as a single-player boxing game in which the player picks the music and punches spheres that approach at different speeds, with robot opponents.[2]
Reception
Steam user reviews were rated Very Positive as of October 2026, with 494 of 562 reviews positive.[1]
