Senza Peso is a free, seated VR app for Windows in which the player watches a surreal journey through the afterlife. It was developed and published by Kite & Lightning and released on Steam on 11 October 2016 for SteamVR and Oculus PC headsets, including the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift.[1][2] It is an updated release of a VR experience that Kite & Lightning first released in June 2014 for the Oculus Rift.[3]
Overview
The Steam store page describes the experience as a VR adaptation of a short-film mini-opera by Cory Strassburger and Alain Vasquez, in which the viewer takes the place of a soul passing into the afterlife.[1] UploadVR described the 2016 release as a sit-down experience built from captured performances set inside an environment made with a game engine, accompanied by a soundtrack, and noted that it has no interactivity; the outlet compared it to a ride that passes through different regions of the afterlife.[2]
The 2014 version, which Road to VR covered on its release, was built in Unreal Engine 4 and produced in about eight weeks using assets from the short film.[3] The 2016 Steam release lists tracked controller support and full controller support, is marked as VR only, and supports a single player.[1]

As of October 2026, Steam user reviews of Senza Peso were rated "Very Positive", with 297 of 317 reviews positive.[1]
