SVRVIVE: The Deus Helix is a single-player mystery and puzzle adventure game for virtual reality headsets, developed by SVRVIVE Studios.[1] It was released on Steam for Windows on 17 November 2016 as a VR-only title with tracked controller support.[2] Steam now lists Antler Interactive as developer and publisher.[3]

Overview

The player explores a series of separate worlds, among them apartments, jungles and alien locations, collecting objects and working out how to use them to solve puzzles.[4] The Vive team's description compares it to escape room games and to 1990s puzzle adventures such as Myst and Riven, and describes the player as a character named Null, abducted by aliens who need help finding hidden DNA components of the universe.[1] The developers told Vive the game takes between four and five hours for most players.[1]

The game uses motion controllers for picking up and handling objects. Steam lists tracked controller support and VR-only play, and its minimum requirements specify SteamVR with standing or room-scale play.[2] UploadVR reviewed the HTC Vive version and mentioned walking around and picking up objects with the Vive controllers.[4]

Reception

UploadVR's Jamie Feltham reviewed the game in November 2016 and was critical. He cited trial-and-error puzzles, very dark environments, bugs that could halt progress and visuals he compared to stock Unity assets, and recommended it only to players strongly drawn to the escape room concept.[4] The Steam store page, on the other hand, cites PC Advisor ranking it among the 19 best HTC Vive games of 2017.[3] Steam user reviews across all languages were rated "Mostly Positive" as of October 2026, with 68 of 94 reviews positive.[5]
