Nemesis Perspective is an asymmetric two-player action game for SteamVR and the HTC Vive, developed by Evocat Games. One player wears the VR headset and plays a giant boss, while the other plays a small hero on a conventional screen with a gamepad. Steam lists Kajak Games and Kajaksi Game Collective as publishers, and the game was released on Steam on December 21, 2016 as a VR-only title for Windows.[1][2] Road to VR described it as Evocat Games' first title.[3]
Overview
The VR player takes the boss role from a first-person view and holds two tracked motion controllers that act as the boss's claws. The second player controls the hero in third person with a console-style controller and a traditional display, so the two players see the fight from different perspectives.[3] Road to VR compared the boss player's task to swatting at a fly, since the hero is far smaller than the boss.[3] The Steam listing says the game is intended for two players, with the boss controlled from the Vive and the hero from a gamepad, and that an AI-controlled hero is available for single-player use.[1]
Steam labels the game as multiplayer, player versus player and shared/split-screen player versus player, with tracked controller support, full controller support and Remote Play Together.[2]
Reception
Road to VR's June 2017 news item called the concept simple but well executed, and said that games letting VR and non-VR players play together are a potentially smart way to reach a larger audience than VR owners alone.[3] It also reported, citing an update from the developer, that Evocat Games planned two additional content packs for 2017.[3] Steam user reviews were rated Very Positive as of October 2026, with 127 of 140 reviews positive.[4]
