L U N E (also written LUNE) is a short VR experience for SteamVR with tracked motion controllers, made by Isaac "Cabbibo" Cohen. Cohen is listed as both developer and publisher, and the game was released for Windows on Steam on 20 June 2016.[1] Its Steam page calls it an "experiential haiku" about exploring virtual reality as a new medium, and lists a play area of at least 2 m by 1.5 m as a requirement.[1] It is a single-player title, and remains on sale on Steam as of October 2026.[1]

Reviewed 9 October 2026. Checked title, developer, publisher, release date, play area, single-player, review summary and credits against the Steam listing, and the Road to VR quote against the article About review dates.

Overview

The experience is non-competitive and interaction-based: according to its Steam listing, players can handle objects, dance or meditate while assembling a "pillow fort" made of stars, with a moon present throughout.[1] The listing credits JJ Verne for audio and Cabbibo for code.[1]

A March 2017 Road to VR article about Cabbibo's "experiential poems" said that building an imaginary fortress in L U N E prompted a deep emotional reaction in many users, and quoted a Steam user who wrote that they crouched to the floor and burst into tears halfway through.[2]

Reception

Steam user reviews were rated Positive as of October 2026, with 90 percent of 44 reviews positive.[1]
