InMind (also listed on Steam as InMind VR) is a short, free VR App for the Oculus Rift (Platform) that combines a science-fiction journey through the human brain with simple arcade targeting. It was developed by Luden.io and published by Nival, and it appeared on Steam on 19 January 2015.[1] As of October 2026 the Steam listing names Luden.io as both developer and publisher, still offers the game for free, and lists Windows, Mac and Linux versions, with VR mode in the Windows version.[2]
Overview
The player rides in a miniature vessel along a fixed route through a stylized landscape of neurons. Neurons marked as targets turn from red to green once the player keeps looking at them, and each run is given a rating, so the ride can be repeated for a better result.[2] A 2017 version of the Steam description presented the goal as finding neurons that cause mental disorder in a patient's brain and pacifying them.[1] The developer's site describes the game as an experimental project made to test the possibilities of virtual reality.[3]
In VR, targets are selected by gaze; on a regular screen the mouse is used instead. The route moves the player continuously, which the Steam page cautions may be uncomfortable for some VR players, and the Space key recenters the VR view. The game was made for early Oculus Rift hardware. According to the Steam page, some of the older drivers and VR software it relies on are no longer supported, so newer headsets may run into launch, display or control problems. A non-VR mode is available.[2]
Reception
Steam user reviews were rated "Mostly Positive" as of October 2026, with 340 positive and 93 negative out of 433 reviews.[4]
