Hoops VR is a basketball free-throw Simulation and Sports game for SteamVR and the HTC Vive, played with Tracked motion controllers. It was developed and published by Wizard Games Inc and released on Steam on 20 June 2016.^[1] The Steam listing describes it as designed for the HTC Vive and shows it as a single-player, VR-only game.^[1]

Overview

The player throws basketballs at a hoop using the motion controllers, with the aim of scoring free throws. According to its Steam page, the normal mode is based on real-world basketball and hoop dimensions, while an easy mode uses wider, closer hoops. Hoops that appear in changing locations are meant to keep the pace moving. Two bonus modes, Paper-Airplane Mode and Garbage Mode, are also listed.^[1]

Scores are tracked on online and local leaderboards, so players can compare results globally or against friends.^[1] The game is also listed on the SpringboardVR marketplace, and the Steam page notes it is available for arcades through SpringboardVR.^[1]^[2]
