Ghost Town Mine Ride and Shootin' Gallery is a first-person Horror game for the HTC Vive on Windows, developed and published by Spectral Illusions. It was released on Steam on 28 October 2016 and requires a SteamVR headset with tracked controllers.[1] The developer lists it for the Vive only, and it is also offered to arcades through SpringboardVR and SynthesisVR.[1]

Reviewed 9 October 2026. Checked developer, publisher, release date, platform, length, arcade availability and Steam review rating against the Steam page, and the review details and 8/10 score against the Gaming Nexus review About review dates.

Overview

The player explores an abandoned amusement attraction built on the site of the former Black Rock Mines, which the game's store page describes as reputedly haunted. The game combines on-foot sections with on-rails sequences, including a mine cart ride, and the developer gives its length as about 25 minutes.[1] A review by Gaming Nexus put completion time at roughly 30 minutes.[2]

The player carries a revolver and a flashlight. According to Gaming Nexus, the revolver is reloaded with the controller thumbpad, the flashlight is held in the left hand, and holding the trigger moves the player in the direction the flashlight points. The same review also mentions doors, plungers and other objects that can be interacted with.[2] The developer warns that the fast-moving sections may cause motion sickness for some players.[1]

Reception

Gaming Nexus gave the game 8 out of 10, praising its lighting, sound design and animatronic models, and criticising the slow walking speed, the lack of a save system and its limited replay value.[2] Steam user reviews were rated Very Positive as of October 2026.[1]
