Escape: VR is a single-player escape and puzzle game for virtual reality, developed by JapanCo and published by Bitlock Studio. It was released on Steam for Windows on 12 April 2017 and requires a SteamVR headset such as the HTC Vive, played standing or room-scale with tracked controllers.[1] As of October 2026 it is still sold on Steam.[1]

Reviewed 9 October 2026. Checked title, developer, publisher, release date, platform, VR input and play-area support, feature list and review counts against Steam store page, appdetails and appreviews data About review dates.

Overview

The goal is to escape from the game's setting, with progress tied to clues and written notes found along the way. The Steam listing names an atmospheric approach, story-driven puzzles, several endings that depend on the player's choices, and random encounters as its main features.[1]

The listing is flagged VR Only with tracked controller support. The listing's description states that Oculus Rift support was planned within two months of its original posting; the page does not say whether it was added.[1]
