Duckpocalypse is an arcade-style shooting game for SteamVR headsets, developed and published by Capitola VR. It was released on Steam for Windows on 22 August 2016 and was built for the HTC Vive.[1] UploadVR covered the launch as a game in the vein of Nintendo's Duck Hunt, with robot ducks as targets.[2] The game was still listed on Steam in October 2026.[1]
Overview
The player stands in a wooden shack and has 90 seconds to shoot as many robot ducks as possible. Explosive red barrels, robots and other objects appear in the player's path, and a score is shown when time runs out.[2] The game is set in a pixel-art world, and its story is that robot ducks have become smarter than humans.[1] Steam lists the game as single-player and VR-only, with tracked controller support and Steam Achievements.[1]
Reception
UploadVR wrote on the release date that the game is simple and that its sense of humor and aesthetic sell it more than anything, and suggested online leaderboards, more game modes or additional maps as improvements.[2] Steam user reviews were rated "Very Positive" as of October 2026, with 46 of 52 reviews positive.[1]
