Infobox Updated 08/21/2017

Crazy Fishing is a VR fishing game developed and published by Mana Wings for Windows. It is played with tracked motion controllers on the HTC Vive through SteamVR, and the infobox also lists the Oculus Rift.[1] UploadVR reported on 10 April 2017 that the game had launched in Early Access on Steam for US$19.99,[2] and Steam lists the full release date as 25 May 2017.[1] The game was still on sale on Steam as of October 2026.[1]

Reviewed 9 October 2026. Checked title, developer, publisher, release date, price, VR support, review counts and quotes against the Steam page and API, UploadVR and Mogura VR About review dates.

Overview

The game is a fishing game that mixes casting and reeling with exaggerated fish and objects. UploadVR described pulling the rod back, flinging it forward and releasing the trigger on the Vive controller as the way a cast is made, and said the Early Access build included unusual catches such as exploding fish, rocket fish and basketball fish.[2]

According to the Steam page, the game has 33 fish to catch, a catch log called the Fish 'o' Dex, an inventory, a shop where catches can be ground up or sold, cosmetic items, a customizable house and aquarium, and Steam leaderboards. Players move around the environment by teleportation.[1] A Japanese report from Mogura VR in May 2017 described it as a fishing simulation with interactions themed around fishing and fish, and noted that Oculus Touch controllers were required on the Rift.[3]

Reception

UploadVR's Early Access write-up said the game "isn't quite a simulation experience" but "makes up for it with plenty of humor and personality", and concluded that it was hard not to recommend giving it a try.[2] Steam user reviews were rated Mixed as of October 2026, with 73 of 132 reviews positive.[1]
