Acan's Call: Act 1 is a free, single-player VR sword-and-shield action game for Windows, developed and published by Cyberith GmbH.[1] It was released on Steam on 11 August 2016 and supports tracked motion controllers in standing or room-scale play.[1] Cyberith, the maker of the Cyberith Virtualizer omnidirectional treadmill, lists Acan's Call among the games offered with the Virtualizer system.[2]
Overview
The player fights through a short sword-fighting experience using a sword and a shield. The Steam listing says Act 1 is a proof of concept for the game's fighting system and that the developer wanted feedback from players for later episodes, which it said would be larger in content and play time. It gives an expected completion time of about 10 to 15 minutes.[1] The lead developer is credited as Pierre Mercy.[1]
The Steam page also notes that the game is available for arcades through SpringboardVR.[1]
An earlier Cyberith demo of the same name was described in a June 2015 interview with Cyberith's Tuncay Cakmak as a walkthrough of an ancient Maya temple, shown alongside the Virtualizer.[3]
