Discovr™ Egypt: King Tut's Tomb is a short educational Adventure experience for SteamVR and the HTC Vive, set in the tomb of the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun. It was developed and published by Discovr Labs and released on Steam on 11 April 2016 as a free download.[1] Steam lists it as a single-player, VR-only title with tracked controller support, and the store page specifies standing or room-scale play and requires an HTC Vive.[1]
Overview
The player explores the three rooms of a recreated tomb, with a stated running time of 10 to 20 minutes.[1] The Steam page describes two modes: Discovery Mode, in which the player looks around and learns about the tomb's contents, and Treasure Hunt, in which the player collects the treasure before a timer runs out.[1]
An educator's comment posted in December 2021 on a University of British Columbia-hosted guide to virtual reality in education described using the experience on a single headset station in a classroom, with students taking turns while classmates supervised. The comment also noted that the objects in the tomb were curated for the experience and not necessarily placed as they were originally found, which prompted class discussion. The guide's entry for the experience lists HTC Vive and Cosmos and Oculus Quest 2 with Link as compatible setups.[2]

On Steam, 37 of 61 user reviews were positive, giving an overall rating of "Mixed" as of October 2026.[1]
