Blobby Tennis is a free VR sports simulation game developed and published by SlinDev. It is played with a tracked racket and ball in a beach setting and requires an HTC Vive or Oculus Rift with Touch controllers.^[1]^[2] It was released on Steam on 12 May 2017, and the Steam listing names Windows and macOS as supported systems.^[1] The developer's itch.io page lists a Windows build from 27 December 2017 and macOS support added on 8 October 2017.^[2]

Overview

The game places the player on a beach with a racket and a ball, with an opponent character named Blobby on the other side of a net. Players can bounce the ball and attempt tricks, rally with Blobby, or try to win points against him.^[1] The sand is not very bouncy, so the game does not follow the rules of real tennis. Both the Steam page and the developer describe it as open-ended play in which the player sets the goals, for example keeping a rally going for 20 returns.^[1]^[2]

Steam lists the game as VR only, with a standing-only play area and tracked controller support, running through SteamVR or the Oculus PC runtime. It is single-player.^[1] The developer states that it uses a custom engine written in C++ with DirectX 12.^[2]
