    • A Fear Of Heights, And Other Things** is a VR experience developed and published by Fulby Technologies for Windows through Steam. It is a collection of short scenes meant to demonstrate presence to people new to virtual reality, and it requires a SteamVR-compatible headset with tracked controllers and a standing or room-scale play space.[1] It was released on 17 October 2016.[1] The Steam page describes it as not a horror game and without jump scares.[1]

Overview

According to the Steam listing, the developer's project began with a single canyon scene built to show friends how virtual reality can trigger an involuntary response without leading them through a game to a suitable point, and it was then expanded into a set of scenes. The listing says it is not a game and has no challenges, and that it is intended to be kept in a library and shown to new users, with less effect expected on veteran VR users.[1]

The listed stationary scenes are a wooden bridge over a canyon, a narrow ledge on a cliff, the top of a city building, a dark passageway lit only by a flip lighter, being trapped underground as the walls close in, being in the ocean surrounded by sharks, and a window-cleaning gondola on the side of a skyscraper. Two scenes include player movement: a base jump and swinging around a city with grappling hooks.[1]

Reception

Steam user reviews were rated "Very Positive" as of October 2026, with 51 of 62 reviews positive.[2]
