The Kopin Golden-i Infinity is an enterprise augmented reality wearable device developed by Kopin Corporation. It is a wired display and camera accessory for an external computer. Kopin's annual report distinguishes Infinity from the earlier Golden-i, which incorporated its own processor, battery and memory.[2]

History and development

Kopin unveiled Golden-i Infinity at Augmented World Expo on 31 May 2018, forecasting third-quarter availability.[3]

Kopin develops microdisplays and wearable computing systems for military, industrial and consumer applications.[2]

Date Documented development
8 November 2018 Kopin forecast beta shipments that quarter and commercialization in early 2019.[4]
7 January 2019 Kopin reported evaluation shipments and approximately 100 pilot-program registrations. It cautioned that participants could cancel.[1]
8 August 2019 Kopin reported a US$3.5 million Infinity technology licensing transaction with RealWear, with future royalties and display sales expected. It also said it would stop internally funding further concept wearable systems.[5]

Design and hardware

A magnetic bracket mounts the Bluetooth-headset-sized unit to eyewear for either eye.[1]

The display has six-axis mechanical positioning.[3]
