The Xreal Air 2 is a consumer augmented reality smart glasses developed by Xreal, announced on October 24, 2023 and released in November 2023 at $399. The successor to the Xreal Air, the Air 2 was the world's first AR glasses to feature Sony's newest 0.55-inch Micro-OLED displays with 4,032 pixels-per-inch, 120 Hz refresh rate, and 0.01ms response time. Weighing only 72 grams (10% lighter than the original) and 10% thinner at 19mm, the Xreal Air 2 continued the company's leadership in the consumer AR glasses market with improved display quality and comfort.

History and Development

Xreal announced the Air 2 series on October 24, 2023, featuring upgraded Sony Micro-OLED displays and refined ergonomics. Pre-orders opened the same day with shipping starting in November 2023. The Air 2 was released alongside the Xreal Air 2 Pro which added electrochromic dimming for light control.[1]
