The Meta Quest 3S is an entry-level standalone mixed reality head-mounted display developed by Meta Platforms. Unveiled on September 25, 2024 at Meta Connect and released on October 15, 2024 starting at $299, the Quest 3S succeeds the Quest 2 at its price point while offering the same Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor and mixed reality capabilities as the Quest 3. The headset features 1832 x 1920 per eye resolution, Fresnel lenses (inherited from Quest 2), color passthrough at 18 PPD (4.5x better than Quest 2), and Touch Plus controllers.[1]
