The Arpara 5K VR is a PC virtual reality head-mounted display developed by Arpara, released in 2022 starting at $399. The world's first 5K dual micro-OLED (OLEDoS) VR headset, featuring 2560x2560 per eye resolution (5120x2560 combined), 3514 PPI density, 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio, 1 μs response time, DCI-P3 90% color gamut, ultra-lightweight 200g design (tethered version), and diopter adjustment from -1D to -5D. Available in tethered PC VR and standalone All-in-One versions.

History and Development

Arpara launched a Kickstarter campaign in 2021 for what they claimed was the world's first 5K micro-OLED VR headset, exceeding their funding goal within 15 minutes. The tethered and AIO (All-in-One) versions began shipping in March 2022. Arpara used OLEDoS (OLED on Silicon) displays from SeeYA, making it the first consumer VR headset with this technology. The compact form factor and high resolution targeted enthusiasts seeking premium visuals.[1]
