Integrated HMD is the most sophisticated and expensive type of virtual reality HMD and augmented reality OHMD. This independent computing device is able to deliver VR and/or AR experiences without any external hardware such as PCs or smartphones. It contains everything from display to processors to camera and is able to display stereoscopic 3D images, perform complex tracking and utilize advanced input methods. Currently, most of Integrated HMDs are AR OHMDs with high price point and target only business professionals.

Two of the most popular devices, Microsoft HoloLens and Google Glass, cost $3000 and $1500 respectively. While Integrated HMDs are expensive, they do not require powerful PCs or smartphones, which can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars.
