The VITURE Luma Ultra is a pair of AR glasses from VITURE Inc. and the flagship “true AR” model in the Luma series. Compared with display-only smart glasses, Luma Ultra adds a front RGB camera and dual grayscale depth cameras to enable on-glasses 6DoF head tracking and hand tracking for spatial computing via VITURE’s SpaceWalker software and SDK across Windows, macOS, and the VITURE Pro Neckband.[1][2][3]
History and release
VITURE announced the Luma series on 8 July 2025, including Luma, Luma Pro, and Luma Ultra, with “The Beast” slated to follow. Coverage and official materials listed Luma Ultra at US$599, with initial shipments in late August 2025 and some preorder batches moving to October 2025.[4][5][1]
Design and hardware
Luma Ultra uses dual Micro-OLED displays from Sony behind Birdbath optics, prioritizing high perceived brightness and a generous eyebox compared with waveguide optics.[1][6] The translucent matte frame integrates electrochromic lenses (fast switching) and dynamic exterior lighting. The glasses draw power from a host device over USB-C (magnetic pogo-pin cable to USB-C) or from the Pro Neckband and contain no internal battery.[1]
2× grayscale depth cameras (temples) for inside-out depth sensing
IMU and wear-detection sensor
The on-glasses processor performs 6DoF calculation, with tracking data consumed by SpaceWalker/SDK on supported platforms for spatial features and hand tracking.[1][3]
Display
Resolution: 1920×1200 per eye (3840×1200 total)
Field of view: 52° (diagonal)
Refresh rate: up to 120 Hz (virtual display)
Perceived peak brightness: up to 1250 nits
Color: “4K-like” 1200p experience using Sony’s latest panels
Myopia adjustment: up to −4.0D
IPD: 58–70 mm (Regular size)
All values above are published by VITURE or corroborated by independent reporting.[1][3][4]
Audio
Luma Ultra integrates spatial speakers tuned with HARMAN AudioEFX; volume and on-device controls are available from the frame.[1]
Tracking and interaction
The Ultra model is designed for 6DoF spatial computing, with depth sensing from the dual grayscale cameras and a front RGB camera. SpaceWalker for Windows and macOS exposes 6DoF on Luma Ultra (and 3DoF functionality on other Luma models).[2][7] VITURE states that Luma Ultra’s proprietary chip performs 6DoF calculations directly on the glasses, improving cross-platform support (Pro Neckband, Windows, macOS).[8] Release notes indicate “Supports 6DoF on VITURE Luma Ultra XR Glasses.”[9]
Software features
VITURE’s SpaceWalker provides multi-screen virtual desktops, 3DoF/6DoF screen pinning, ultrawide display modes, and “Immersive 3D” real-time 2D-to-3D conversion on supported platforms (Windows/macOS more fully; iOS/Android via the app with some service limitations).[4][2][10]
Coverage highlighted the Luma series’ use of Sony micro-OLED panels and positioned Luma Ultra as the model targeting spatial computing use cases with on-glasses 6DoF, dual depth cameras, and hand gestures. Articles contrasted its bright birdbath optics approach with waveguide-based competitors in the display-glasses segment.[4][6][3]
