The VITURE Pro (also known as VITURE Pro XR) is a pair of premium augmented reality smart glasses developed by VITURE, released in 2024. The glasses are notable for being the world's first XR glasses to feature electrochromic film technology, which can block up to 99.9% of external light with the touch of a button. The Pro model features Harman-designed audio and a bright 4000-nit peak display, positioning it as a high-end option in the consumer AR glasses market.

History and Development

VITURE established itself in the AR glasses market with the Viture One and Viture One Lite. The VITURE Pro represents a significant upgrade, introducing electrochromic dimming technology and enhanced audio in partnership with Harman (creator of AudioEFX). The glasses were released in 2024 and quickly earned recognition as one of the best premium AR glasses available.[1]

Design and Hardware

Display

The VITURE Pro features dual Micro-OLED displays delivering Full HD 1920×1080 resolution per eye. Key display specifications:

  • 135-inch equivalent virtual screen (up from 120" on previous models)
  • 120 Hz refresh rate
  • 4000 nits peak brightness
  • Over 1000 nits perceived brightness (highest in its class)
  • 46° diagonal field of view[2]

Electrochromic Film Technology

The VITURE Pro is the first AR glasses to feature electrochromic film, a technology that allows the lenses to switch between transparent and opaque states:

  • Blocks up to 99.9% of external light
  • Activated with a single button press
  • Eliminates the need for attachable light-blocking shades
  • Creates a fully immersive viewing experience when darkened
  • Can be left transparent for ambient awareness[3]

Vision Correction

The VITURE Pro supports myopia adjustment up to -5.0D (500 degrees), allowing nearsighted users to use the glasses without prescription lenses. Two size options are available:

  • Regular: For IPDs up to 70mm
  • Large: For IPDs up to 74mm

Audio

VITURE partnered with Harman to develop the Pro's audio system:

  • AudioEFX sound technology
  • Reverse sound field design
  • Reduces noise leakage to 30 dB at 20cm distance
  • Improved directional audio compared to competitors

Build and Ergonomics

  • Weight: 77 grams
  • Material: Aircraft-grade aluminum-titanium alloy
  • Design optimized for extended comfort during long viewing sessions

Software

The VITURE Pro is compatible with the free SpaceWalker app, which enables:

  • Multiple virtual screens in space
  • Productivity tools and workspace management
  • Native 3D/VR video support
  • 3DoF head tracking for spatial display

Compatibility

The VITURE Pro works with any USB-C device capable of video output:

  • Android phones
  • iPhone 15 and newer
  • MacBook and Mac
  • Windows PCs
  • Steam Deck
  • Nintendo Switch (with adapter)
  • ROG Ally and other gaming handhelds

Reception

The VITURE Pro has received excellent reviews, with many publications naming it the best premium AR glasses available:

Praise:

  • "Has officially taken its place as the best premium AR glasses" - Cybernews
  • "Take the whole AR glasses category to a new level" - Tom's Guide
  • Excellent electrochromic dimming (99.9% light blocking)
  • Bright 1000+ nit perceived brightness
  • Harman audio quality with reduced leakage
  • Lightweight aluminum-titanium construction
  • Wide myopia adjustment range

Criticism:

  • Higher price point ($459) than base models
  • 46° FOV narrower than some competitors
  • Requires compatible USB-C device
  • No integrated battery[4]
