The Oculus Rift S is a virtual reality head-mounted display co-developed by Lenovo Technologies and Oculus VR. Announced at GDC in March 2019 and released in May 2019 for $399, the Rift S succeeded the original Oculus Rift CV1 with a new inside-out tracking system called Oculus Insight, eliminating the need for external sensors. The headset features five built-in cameras, a higher-resolution LCD display, and improved lenses. The Rift S was discontinued in April 2021.[1]
