There are multiple Pool Nation releases on Steam so seeing yet another one didn’t really impress anyone. However, if you look closely and see the VR tag attached, things get a lot more interesting as you think about how pool might work in VR. Pool Nation VR is here to help you take your pool experience to new heights.

What I liked the most in Pool Nation VR is the ability to see ball physics and I also enjoyed the interaction with objects. Aside from the regular matches, you can create trick shots with bottles, plates and a wide range of other items. You can easily interact with anything you want in the game and you get to have a lot of fun as you explore all the options!
There are tons of customization options as you can easily decorate the table top, customize the pool, dress up the avatar and so on. They really outdid themselves when compared to the previous games and overall you get a very good value which is what matters the most.
You can play against the AI but you can also play online against friends if you want which is really exciting. They also allow you to play VR darts as a downtime before you enter the pool game which I found to be a very good addition and a fun one as well.
The VR experience here is astonishing and the game does feel very realistic. It does feel like you are playing pool and it’s one of the best VR gaming experiences as well. The fun factor here is off the charts, mainly because you can easily play against the AI and just enjoy your time instead of dealing with challenging enemies online. Of course, if you want to engage in online battles you can do that as well which is very nice.
The replay factor is there and unless you get tired of the VR experience, you will replay the game over and over. Since each new game comes with endless possibilities and there are multiple game modes, it’s really hard to get bored of this especially if you love pool.
What I did note while playing is that the VR experience can get a little blurry at times. It’s noticeable sometimes but it won’t affect your gameplay that much. It won’t cause any motion sickness, but you can sense and see it at times.
This is only a minor hiccup though because the game is frankly a ton of fun and it does bring in front some of the best VR gaming experiences that I have ever seen. Not only is it delivering an amazing gameplay, but it’s really neat and in the end it does show how proper VR pool needs to be made. Another thing to keep in mind is that the game’s community is very friendly and they will help you play whenever you need any pointers. It’s a great and friendly community which you can rarely see in gaming nowadays. Overall, Pool Nation VR is amazing and well worth your time, especially if you like playing pool!
8.5/10
